5 months until the voters of Arizona are asked if they wanted to legalize Marijuana for the third time. Twice they voted FOR medical marijuana and the judicial and legistive branches conspired to strike the measures down. Just who do they represent? This November they will once again to vote yes or no on the issue of legalizing Marijuana for medical usage by certain classes of patients. I did sign the petition to get the measure on the ballot. I must admit that I did not take the time to read through the measure as it will appear on the ballot this time. I'll leave that to the legal eagles and the vocal advocates that do the campaigning to dot the I's and cross the T's. More than whether pot should be a part of the physician's formulary (and it should) its the usurpation of the voice of the people by those elected to represent not rule. The people have spoken , twice, and we can only hope that the third time is indeed the charm. And aside from the Medical and Tax advantages marijuana offers (see my earlier blog about the Gulf Oil Disaster), I have included a short cartoon reciting the other uses of hemp that we, in our modern age, have forgotten.
