Clinical trial on GetGlue
It is unfortunate that a well designed double-blind clinical trial can take 6 months to organize and another 6 to line up the requisite volunteers and then a year or two or even more to track the drug performance if it is a long term treatment course. But then we have the case of protease inhibitors designed for the treatment of Hepatitis C that demonstrated up to 80 % viral clearance on patients previously treated under older protocols and found to be Type A non-responders. Beta testing was completed more than a year ago and yet my hepatologist tell me IF it gets FDA approval the ok is at least another year away. I offered Myself up 3 years ago as a test subject. That makes my own wait 4 to 5 years. Wish that I could have been part of those clinical trials even if was in the placebo group, if only it could speed the process along.
